## Why we built it?

Understanding diversity in customer needs and use cases is at the heart of our
platform. That's why we're expanding our customization options with a new
feature: **AI Professions**.

This feature enables you to customize yet another aspect of your AI
Assistant's behavior, its 'profession', to ensure it's aligned with the goals
you want to achieve.

Every company possesses a distinct brand voice and a unique relationship with
its customers. Websites may also serve a slightly different purpose. Maybe
yours is not just about direct sales.

Perhaps you want to prioritize positioning yourself as a field expert and
laying the groundwork for long-term relationships. In that case, you don't
want to come off as too salesy.

Or maybe it's just the opposite and you want your AI Agent to proactively
pursue sales and nudge those conversion rates upwards right now.

## Four Professions to choose from — make the AI Agent work towards your exact goals

To help you achieve all of the above, we created four AI Professions. Each was
designed to cater to specific use cases, ensuring the Assistant's behavior
aligns with your goals:

**Helpful Assistant: Versatile** and available on all Plans. Good for
answering **general queries**.

**Customer Support Representative:** Ideal for offering caring **customer
support**. AI Agent will empathetically address inquiries, suggest step-
by-step solutions and give information for troubleshooting common issues.

**Shopping Assistant:** Specially designed for **e-commerce**. This
option enables your Assistant to proactively suggest products and links to
product detail pages and move your prospects down the funnel.

**Field Expert:** For businesses focused on highlighting their **expertise**.
This Assistant acts as a consultant and informative resource, offering
detailed responses and expert guidance in a specific field.

Let's take a look at the below example.

You are running a direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce business selling teeth
whitening systems. You have been using an AI Agent on your website to
automate the process of answering customer queries:

The default response would simply direct the user to the refund page

However, you realized that many of these interactions present significant
opportunities for cross-selling or upselling. You could potentially benefit if

this, you changed its Profession to 'Shopping Assistant':

But with Shopping Assistant Profession, it tries to turn the tables and goes
for a cross-sell

Now, it focuses more on sales and actively shares links to relevant products.

This feature represents another step forward in offering you more control over
